Hello! I am a children’s book author from Wichita, Kansas. I was raised in a small town and am the youngest of six.

As a mother of four, a grandmother of nine, and a teacher, I have seen the impact reading to a child at an early age can have. Having worked with children, I know the importance of not only reading but also imagination.  I remember my childhood imaginary adventures. Because of that imagination, I started creating stories at a young age. I also love to travel, and many of the little critters and animals I have seen along the way spark a story! (My husband and sisters can attest to that.) Hence, my new love of writing for children. I constantly draw inspiration and ideas from my travels and experiences for my writing.

We are a very close-knit family, and my grandchildren always inspire me. I write my books with them in mind and involve them in the creative process whenever possible.

My hope for the future is to continue the theme of the forest animals while incorporating an important message in each book. I also plan on having some author sessions along with my niece, who is my illustrator. These will include book readings, signings, and live drawing demonstrations, just to name a few activities.
